After rumours of actor Kartik Aaryan being ousted from filmmaker Aanand L Rai’s film took over the internet, the director has firmly denied that he wasn’t going to cast Aaryan in that movie in the first place. “As a production house, we work on several scripts and pitch it to actors — that’s the process. Actors keep meeting you, you keep telling them what you are working on, they express their desire to collaborate. And then, depending upon the subject, you decide if you should approach them. But that doesn’t mean you have signed them,” he told Hindustan Times.
Soon, a spokesperson for Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions also put out a statement. “These are baseless rumours. We’ve met Kartik for a different film and we’re still talking. We’ve taken another film altogether to Ayushmann and this is a complete mix up,” it read. Aaryan has been in the news a lot of late and not for good reasons. It was reported that he had been fired from Dharma Productions’ Dostana 2 and then, he also walked out of Red Chillies’ Goodbye Freddie.
