Matchday 32 in the Premier League delivered some prime-time entertainment as Manchester United and Arsenal suffered crushing defeats, while Manchester City and Liverpool played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in the title showdown at the Etihad. 

There were some stunning performances from the likes of Kevin de Bruyne and Heung-Min Son on matchday 32, and here is our Man’s Life Premier League Team of the Week.

GK: Jordan Pickford (Everton) 

Jordan Pickford played an influential role in Everton’s 1-0 win over Manchester United, with the English shot-stopper making two crucial saves to deny Marcus Rashford and help the Toffees come away with a much-needed victory.

CB: Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)

Virgil van Dijk was at his imperious best for Liverpool in their high-stakes clash against Manchester City at the Etihad. The Dutchman led the Liverpool backline with authority and used his physical stature and awareness to sniff out plenty of City attacks in the second half. 

CB: Antonio Rudiger (Chelsea)

Antonio Rudiger completed the most passes (97) and won back possession ten times – the most for any player – in Chelsea’s huge 6-0 win over Southampton.

CB: Grant Hanley (Norwich City)

Grant Hanley made 12 clearances – the most amongst any player on the pitch – to help Norwich claim a pivotal three points and clean sheet over Burnley in their bid for survival.

LWB: Marcos Alonso (Chelsea)

Marcos Alonso ran riot for Chelsea against Southampton, with the Spanish wing-back scoring one goal, managing five key passes and creating two big chances for the Blues.

RWB: Enock Mwepu (Brighton)

Enock Mwepu dominated the midfield battle at the Emirates as the Zambian midfielder overshadowed the likes of Albert Sambi Lokonga and Martin Odegaard to help Brighton come away with a 2-1 victory. The 24-year-old delivered the assist for the opening goal for Leandro Trossard with a clever run down the left wing before scoring the winning goal in the second half with a stunning long-range effort.

CM: Mason Mount (Chelsea)

After two disappointing defeats against Brentford and Real Madrid, Mason Mount helped Chelsea bounce back in style against Southampton, with the Englishman bagging two goals and an assist in the Blues’ 6-0 victory over the Saints.

CM: Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City)

Kevin de Bruyne was the best player on the pitch in Liverpool’s 2-2 with Manchester City, with the Belgian opening the scoring inside five minutes before killing the Reds in transition with his pin-point passing and incredible vision.

RW: Timo Werner (Chelsea)

Timo Werner enjoyed his best game in a Chelsea shirt this season on the south coast as the German international bagged his first Premier League brace for the Blues in their 6-0 rout over Southampton.

LW: Heung-Min Son (Tottenham)

Heung-Min Son’s crazy run of goal-scoring form continued on matchday 32 as the Korean bagged a hat-trick for Tottenham in their thumping 4-0 win over Aston Villa at Villa Park.

ST: Ivan Toney (Brentford)

Ivan Toney produced the complete centre-forward’s performance for Brentford in their 2-0 victory over West Ham in the London derby. The Englishman had a hand in both of the Bees goals in the second half, setting up his strike partner Bryan Mbeumo before doubling the scores with a powerful header.

Manager of the week: Frank Lampard (Everton)

After coming under immense scrutiny over the past few weeks, Frank Lampard produced the biggest win of his managerial career as Everton beat Manchester United 1-0 to raise their chances of survival this season.
