GK: Fraser Forster (Southampton)

After conceding six goals to Chelsea, Fraser Forster bounced back emphatically against Arsenal, making six saves against the Gunners – including one superb reflex stop to deny Emile Smith Rowe – to help Southampton take all three points.

RB: Joao Cancelo (Manchester City)

Joao Cancelo produced another typical 7/10 performance for Manchester City in their 3-0 win at the Etihad, as the Portuguese full-back completed two key passes and the most tackles in the match (4).

CB: Pontus Jansson (Brentford)

Pontus Jansson got on the scoresheet for Brentford once again at the weekend, scoring the winning goal against Watford to more or less secure the Bees’ survival in the Premier League this season.

CB: Jan Bednarek (Southampton)

Following a disappointing showing against Chelsea, Jan Bednarek put in a much-improved display against Arsenal, with the Polish centre-half bagging the winning goal and defending resolutely to ensure the Saints came away with a clean sheet and all three points.

LB: Leandro Trossard (Brighton)

Leandro Trossard was forced to play left-wing back for Brighton against Tottenham, and the Belgian midfielder adapted perfectly to the role, helping the team stay compact in defence before scoring his sixth goal of the season in the 90th minute.

CM: Thiago Alcantara (Liverpool)

Thiago Alcantara delivered one of the finest performances from a central midfielder this season in Liverpool’s 4-0 rout over Manchester United, with the Spaniard gliding across the pitch like a ballerina and cutting through the Red Devils’ defence with pinpoint precision.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle United)

Bruno Guimares announced his arrival at Newcastle United over the weekend, with the Brazilian international scoring both goals for the Magpies in their dramatic 2-1 win over Leicester City.

RM: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

Mohamed Salah finally ended his brief scoring drought for Liverpool in their thumping victory over Manchester United, with the Egyptian bagging a well-taken brace to go along with his brilliant assist for Luis Diaz’s opener.

LM: Sadio Mane (Liverpool)

Sadio Mane has rediscovered his best form for Liverpool in the last few weeks, and the Senegal star delivered another world-class performance against Manchester United. The winger produced one of the passes of the season for Liverpool’s second goal against the Red Devils, and got on the scoresheet in the second half to cap off a brilliant all-round performance.

ST: Eddie Nketiah (Arsenal)

Having not scored for Arsenal in the Premier League for over a year, Eddie Nketiah was the difference-maker for the Gunners against Chelsea, as the 22-year-old bagged the first league brace of his career to give Mikel Artera’s a much-needed three points in the race for Champions League football.

ST: Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United)

Cristiano Ronaldo delivered the goods for Manchester United once again in the race for the top four, with the Portuguese superstar scoring a hat-trick for the Red Devils against Norwich City – his 30th in all competitions since turning 30.

Manager of the week: Graham Potter (Brighton)

Graham Potter’s Brighton continued to spoil the party of the teams in the running for Champions League positions as the Seagulls followed up their 2-1 win over Arsenal with another successful trip to North London, beating Tottenham 1-0 thanks to a last-gasp winner from Leandro Trossard.
