We are almost halfway through Season 8 of Pro Kabaddi and we have witnessed the emergence of more new stars over the past week while some of the big boys have continued to dominate proceedings and stamp their authority too.

Here at Man’s Life, with a little data support from our friends at we bring you the Dream Team of the past week at Pro Kabaddi (week ending 16th January).

The Bengaluru Bulls have surged ahead to the top of the points table over the past week and much of that damage, as expected, was done by their star raider and Captain, Pawan Sehrawat who scored an average of 17 points per game over the 3 games they played, with two of them resulting in wins.

▶ RIGHT-IN – MANINDER SINGH (Bengal Warriors): 3 Matches –  42 points

Mighty Maninder Singh has unleashed himself once again in what has been pretty much a one-man show for the defending Champions, Bengal Warriors, who have struggled as a unit this season to replicate their form from 2019. Maninder scored 14 points per game on average and scored almost every raid point in the Tied Match vs U Mumba.

▶ LEFT-IN – ASLAM INAMDAR (Puneri Paltan): 2 Matches – 22 points

This was a tough pick between Aslam Inamdar and the in-form Rakesh Sangroya from Gujarat Giants, but Pune winning 2 out of 2 with a massive score difference of 31 points meant that we couldn’t ignore young Aslam Inamdar. Pune’s change in fortunes as they head up the points table has a lot to do with this young man’s all-round skill and the combination with Nitin Tomar has worked wonders for Pune.

It may not have been a big week in terms of points for Sumit on the Left Corner for UP Yoddha, but the impact and the support he offered defensively resulted in an outstanding week for his side in Week 4. UP played 3 matches and went unbeaten and continued their domination at the start of week 5 too.

▶ LEFT COVER – PARVESH BHAINSWAL (Gujarat Giants): 2 Matches – 9 tackle points

WELCOME BACK PARVESH!!! It’s been a season of struggles for the Gujarat Giants so far in Season 8 but a return to form for their ace Left Cover defender also resulted in a win in Week 4. While his compatriot, Suni Kumar’s struggles continue, Bhainswal’s return to form is a big positive for Manpreet Singh’s men heading into the crucial second half of the season.

▶ RIGHT COVER – ABHINESH NATARAJAN (Puneri Paltan): 2 Matches – 9 tackle points

While Surjeet Singh of the Tamil Thalaivas has dominated this position all season long, I thought it was only right to reward the other bright spark in the Right Cover region, Abhinesh, who has helped change the fortunes of the Puneri Paltan. 2 wins from 2 matches this week and it’s been Abhinesh that has led the pack from his central role in defence.

▶ RIGHT CORNER – SAHUL KUMAR (Jaipur Pink Panthers): 2 Matches – 12 tackle points

What a week for debutant Sahul Kumar who single-handedly destroyed every raider who entered his Right Corner region this week. 12 tackle points in just 2 games resulted in Abhishek Bachchan’s men in pink beating both the top teams of the league over the past seven days and also means that with their raiders firing, Jaipur Pink Panthers could be peaking at the right time for the first time in a while.
