A knockout is very much entertaining to watch if you are a fan and things get better when that knockout is via leg-kicks. In the long existence of UFC, we have seen some deadly leg kicks which have ended careers and how devastating a foot to the face can be inside the octagon. Here’s a list of the top 5 leg-kick knockouts the promotion has ever seen.

1. Anderson Silva VS Vitor Belfort, UFC 216

In a highly anticipated fight at UFC 126, Anderson Silva successfully defended his middleweight championship against Vitor Belfort. Both the fighters were giving it everything as both of them attempted to land significant strikes on each other. Things were looking normal until Silva went on the back foot for a second in the first round, which was only to land a perfect leg kick that hit Belfort right in the middle of his face which dropped him to the canvas. Silva then followed up with a couple of punches before the referee intervened but you could easily tell that Vitor Belfort was out before he touched the canvas.

2. Lyoto Machida VS Randy Couture, UFC 129

Lyoto Machida landed one of the greatest knockouts of all time when he took Randy Couture out with a Crane kick which was never witnessed in UFC before. The win was critical for the Brazilian which improved his rankings in the Light Heavyweight division. After that fight, the American Hall of Famer professed his retirement in the post-fight interview. Machida raised Couture’s hand following the fight, praising him for his retirement as the massive crowd applauded him.

3. Edson Barboza VS Terry Etim, UFC 142

Edson Barboza is known to be one of the best finishers in MMA especially when it comes to leg kicks. He proved the world right when he connected his perfect spinning wheel kick on his opponent Terry Etim at UFC 142. Fans across the world who were watching the fight live were shocked to see Terry get down to the canvas as he fell like a mannequin and could not move an inch after Barboza connected that leg-kick.

4. Uriah Hall VS Adam Cella, TUF 17

While talking about wheel kicks, how can we not mention the fight between Uriah Hall and Adam Cella at The Ultimate Fighter 17. With just a few seconds remaining on the clock, Hall made a statement when his wheel kick connected to Cella’s Jaw perfectly and put the entire arena in absolute silence. This victory earned him the Knockout of the Season but sadly, he could not win the TUF crown as he lost to Kelvin Gastelum via split decision.

5. UFC on FX 8: Vitor Belfort vs. Luke Rockhold

Victor Belfort finished Luke Rockhold via KO at UFC on FX 8. He shocked the world, not by winning the fight in the first round but by the fashion in which he finished it. It was the second wheel kick he threw in the round and connected as sweetly as it could. After connecting his vicious spinning kick, Belfort followed up with five more punches before the referee pulled him away after just 32 seconds of round 1.
